The current owner, in fact, grew up on the floor right above the shop! Originally immigrants from the Middle East, this family used to primarily sell imported textiles like Persian rugs and woven cotton cloths like keffiyehs from Palestine. However, as more and more textile mills in Palestine were destroyed throughout the 20th century, it became harder for them to source those items. It has the backing of a brooch with the pin and clasp mechanism functioning and in place, but could easily be slid onto a chain and worn as a pendant. Missing one small clear paste stone; some slight discoloration to other clear paste stones, along with other minor wear commensurate with age. This ring is made in the Victorian style, exhibiting a sweetheart or twin heart motif with a ribbon crown on top. Modeled after rings from the Victorian era, this is a true vintage piece dating to 1978, with a maker’s mark indicating that the ring was made by T.O’D Jewels, or Tom O’Donoghue, a prestigious London-based jeweler that has been in business since 1951 (and still is today!). The last picture included is from T.O’D’s own website, and shows Princess Margaret receiving a private tour of the T.O’D workshop. This diamond navette ring shimmers brightly, much like the waters of Grand Isle that Edna gazes upon throughout the novel. Much like Edna, this ring is not just one color; there is more to it than that, much like Edna discovers the different sides to herself. Some of the diamonds lean toward a whiter shade, while some lean toward a more yellow, lemonade-like shade, with one notable one set at the center, and others sprinkled and scattered throughout. With decorative scrolling shoulders and a relatively simple shank, the ring is composed of 9 carat gold (tested, but unmarked).

Excellent condition, sparkling and shiny with all stones secure and having been recently checked by a professional jeweler.
