This gilt brooch appears to be a relic that dates to a time when jewelry was beginning to be produced for the masses, as I have seen several other examples of this piece from other collectors, indicating that this brooch design was once relatively “mass-produced” (as much as was capable during the Victorian era), and jewelry began to be democratized in way, and made affordable and available for a wider audience. Given that, the stones are made of glass paste meant to mimic the colors of the stones ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby, and diamond, in order to spell out the sentimental message ‘REGARD.’ This is a personal collection piece, and an opportunity to own an example of the highly sought-after acrostic jewelry, but at an affordable price.
Condition notes: Good antique condition, with wear and scratches to the metal commensurate with age, as well as patina and minor dents to parts of the metal (see images).

I ship both domestically within the United States and internationally to most countries. The United States Postal Service offers both domestic and international shipping with options to insure a package and have signed delivery; however, UPS is also available for domestic shipping but will cost more. These options should be automatically calculated at checkout. For international shipping, USPS, DHL, and UPS Express International are the options available through Shopify. RETURN POLICY:
I am happy to accept returns within 14 days of receipt of the item if you aren’t happy with your purchase, so long as the item is returned undamaged in its original condition. Two exceptions to this return policy: The first, wherein it extends past 14 days is if the item does not completely match the description of the item you purchased, or some other mistake was made on the part of Old Curiosity Jewels that led to your dissatisfaction or disappointment.
