Meet The Rose: She is simple, yet classic in design, and agreeable to everyone who lays eyes on her. She's the one who is always turning heads with her beauty; there is just some "je ne sais quois" quality to The Rose that makes her timelessly elegant.

The Rose is a gorgeous half hoop, five stone ring that will dazzle you. But she’s more than just surface sparkle; there’s depth to her beauty: the graduated, oval mixed-cut rubies radiate a vibrant, glowing, magenta hue, complimented by the 9 carat gold scroll gallery setting they are held by. The stones are in a closed-back setting, a little unusual for the period, as that was a more common practice earlier on, so it would be important not to get it wet. This is a personal collection piece, and one that was hard to let go of, so I can tell you from first hand experience that she is sure to add a refined, yet still slightly flirty and feminine compliment to your stack.

This ring bears full hallmarks for the city of Chester, and dates to 1908, stamped 375, with the maker's mark "AM." So, it is an Edwardian piece, just after the Victorian era, thus, you can still see visual similarities to lots of Victorian style rings. The ring is a U.S. size 7, or UK size M, and could be resized by a jeweler, though one would have to be careful to preserve the assay marks. It is in good antique condition, stones are relatively well matched, and to my knowledge, they are all natural stones (the auction house I purchased it from did not indicate that any stones are synthetic, which would be standard practice to disclose). However, they did indicate that several have been replaced, though they did not indicate when. The largest ruby measures approximately 5.0 x 3.7mm. No large nicks or chips in the stones, just some light scratching and surface wear to the metal and high points that is commensurate with age.

Box shown is not included, but it will arrived carefully packed in a different box. Please note that this is an antique piece, meaning it is at least 100 years old. So, even though it is in good condition, it is a pre-owned piece and is not in mint condition. Antique pieces almost always have hints of patina, surface wear, small nicks, and other signs commensurate with its age. Please keep this in mind before deciding if a piece is right for you.
