Meet The Belles: While their name might imply that they love taking center stage (and yes, they do dream of that...maybe someday), they know what they do best. They are there to help give you that extra sparkle and make you the Belle of the Ball.
The Belles are sparkly diamond paste earrings date to the Georgian era, and judging by their construction and the technique of the craftsmanship, they likely date to somewhere around the 1780s. They definitely showed their age when I first got them, but it wasn’t anything a few intense polishing sessions couldn’t fix up. Now, they’ve been restored to their former glory, ready to dazzle as they dangle and sway from your ear. The paste stones are wonderfully preserved, with only the top stone of one of the earrings having a slight tint to them, and they are set into a beautiful scrolling floral/vegetal design. So, are you ready to be the belle of the ball at your next night night out? These sparkly ladies sure miss evening parties, and they would be delighted (and excited) to once again have a little bit of fun and accompany you on your next night out.
These earrings are just about 3cm in length, and have small shepherd’s hook wires on the back. Nothing else notable about their condition, besides the slight paste stone discoloration mentioned earlier. Any other wear is commensurate with age. Box shown is not included. Please remember that this is an antique piece, and is well over 100 years old. As such, it is a pre-owned piece and is not in mint condition. Antique pieces almost always have hints of patina, surface wear, small nicks, and other signs commensurate with its age. Please keep this in mind before deciding if a piece from my shop is right for you. I have done my best to document all the details or any major flaws of the piece both in writing and photographs to help you make your decision.
