The Grey Lady ~ Victorian Rose Cut Diamond Navette Dress Ring

Meet The Grey Lady: A shimmering, whisper of a reminder of days gone by, much like the Lady in Grey who continues to twirl in the ballroom, unaware of the passage of time, and unaware that the finery that once adorned her fingers has since moved on to other corners of the world, beloved by many others. No, she is unaware of this, but her elegance has been imbued in the pieces that she once loved to wear.
This lovely dress ring, or The Grey Lady, as she's been lovingly named, dates to the Victorian era, likely mid-late Victorian. The gold is a rich, buttery yellow, set with glittering rose-cut diamonds that appear bright, but almost give off a silvery glow when set against the rich gold tones. It is in the navette, or marquise shape, with a profile that is elegant for evening events, yet still subtle enough for everyday wear. Box shown is not included.
Condition & Other notes: - Ring size: U.S. 6.5 - Markings: Hallmarks were present at one point, but are indistinct now, preventing an accurate year, city, and gold purity assessment. I can acid test the gold if desired. - Length of ring head is 17mm - Diamonds appear bright, but a few have some small nibbles to the facet edges, and the principle diamond is chipped (see images). - The band appears to have been resized at one point - Band slightly misshapen (see images) - Metal has some surface scratches, wear, and discoloration commensurate with age, but nothing major.
Please note that this is an antique piece, so even though it is in good condition for its age, it is a pre-owned piece and is not in mint condition. Antique pieces almost always have hints of patina, surface wear, small nicks, and other signs commensurate with its age. Please keep this in mind before deciding if a piece is right for you. SHIPPING:
I ship both domestically within the United States and internationally to most countries. The United States Postal Service offers both domestic and international shipping with options to insure a package and have signed delivery; however, UPS is also available for domestic shipping but will cost more. These options should be automatically calculated at checkout. For international shipping, USPS, DHL, and UPS Express International are the options available through Shopify. Please let me know if you need to make alternate arrangements.
RETURN POLICY:
I am happy to accept returns within 14 days of receipt of the item if you aren’t happy with your purchase, so long as the item is returned undamaged in its original condition.
